What we collect, and what waits for your permission

The Systems Effect runs this site. Questions about anything here, or a request to have your data removed, go to Contact@thesystemseffect.com. Last updated September 22, 2026.

Counting visits, without cookies

Every page view is counted by Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies. A visitor is a hash made from the request that resets every day, so the same person cannot be followed across days or across other websites, and we only ever see totals.

What waits until you say yes

The cookie banner has two separate switches, both off until you turn them on. Turn one off, or leave it off, and the thing it covers does not run and writes no cookie.

How pages get used turns on Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used: scrolling, clicks, and where people stop reading. What you type into a form is masked and never recorded, and the chat window is masked the same way. It runs on these public pages only, never in the client portal and never on a personal report page, and it is switched off entirely for anyone signed in. Microsoft processes and keeps that data under its own privacy statement.

The same switch turns on Google Analytics, which tells us how visitors found the site, which pages they landed on and which steps they reached, using cookies of its own. It follows the same limits as Clarity: public pages only, and never for anyone signed in. Its advertising features stay off unless you also turn on the ads switch. Google processes and keeps that data under its own privacy policy.

Which ads brought you here turns on the OpenAI Ads pixel, which tells us which ads bring people here, using two cookies of its own. If you fill in a form after arriving from an ad, we report that conversion with your email address hashed, never the address itself. Leave it off, and no conversion is reported at all.

You can change either answer at any time: .

What you send us on purpose

While you browse, your browser remembers the page you arrived on, the site that linked you to us and any campaign tags in the link, for the length of the visit and nowhere else. If you then send a message, start a chat or book a call, that goes along with it so we know which channel brought you.

The scorecard, the Escape Plan and the contact form collect what you type: your name, email, company where you give one, and your answers. We store it in our own database, send you the result by email, and use it to prepare for a conversation. The scorecard and Escape Plan results live at an unlisted link, which is kept out of search engines and is only useful to whoever holds it.

Two of those written answers are read by Anthropic's Claude to write the personal part of your scorecard report. Booking a call goes through Calendly, and our email goes out through Resend, each under their own terms.

We keep what you send until you ask us to delete it. Email Contact@thesystemseffect.com and we will remove it.

The chat

The Ask a question panel sends what you write to our team, and a person replies by email. We store your messages, the email address you give us to be answered at, your name, company and phone if you add them, the page you were on, and a keyed hash of your network address that we use only to limit abuse. Our staff read it, and the companies listed below process it for us. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is starting the chat.

Please do not share ID numbers, card numbers, or health or financial account details. The chat removes what looks like a card or ID number before it saves anything.

We keep a chat with no email address for 90 days after its last message, and a chat with an email address for 24 months after its last message. You can delete a conversation yourself, from the panel or from the link in our reply email, and the messages go with it. Contact details you gave us that already became a record in our CRM stay there until you ask us to remove them at Contact@thesystemseffect.com. We do not sell or share what you write.

Cookies on this site

Needed: a sign-in cookie, only for clients and staff using the portal. If you start a chat, a cookie named tse_ask holds a random code that lets this browser find your conversation again for 30 days; the link in our reply email does the same on any device. Your cookie answer is remembered in your browser rather than in a cookie.

Optional, after you accept: Microsoft Clarity, so a recording can follow one visit across several pages, Google Analytics, so a return visit can be told apart from a new one, and the OpenAI Ads pixel, so an ad click can be matched to what happened afterwards.

Who else sees it

The companies that run this for us, and nobody else: Vercel hosts the site, Supabase stores the data, Microsoft runs Clarity, Google runs Analytics, OpenAI measures the ads, Calendly books the calls, Resend sends the email, Cloudflare checks that a person is starting a chat, and Anthropic reads the two written scorecard answers. We do not sell anything we collect.

This site is for business owners. It is not directed at children.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If you have a question about any of it, write to us and a person will answer.
